Main & Basement Bathroom
We hired RMB Renovations for two tiling projects (bathroom and hallway) and a complete renovation of our downstairs’ bathroom. We have been very happy with everything that Rob and his crew have done over the twenty years we’ve lived in Kingston and would not hesitate to hire Rob for future renovation projects. Basement Apartment
Taking on a renovation project can be stressful, especially when you hire a contractor who doesn’t show up or when you realize that the job wasn’t done properly. That’s why we took the time to do our homework when we needed to renovate our basement. Rob and his team have a great reputation in Kingston, and it’s well deserved. To make our basement a safe and comfortable living space, we needed proper egress windows and a new shower. The job involved cutting through the concrete foundation walls and creating exterior window wells to fit the larger windows. The old shower was fairly new, but it was covered in black mold and the framing had significant water damage. Rob and his team rebuilt the walls and installed a beautiful new shower. With the space finally up to code, we now have a safe and cozy basement unit. 5 years later and we’re pleased to say the job was done right. Honesty and integrity can be hard to find these days, but it still exists! If you need a renovation call Rob, you won’t be disappointed.

Ensuite Bathroom
Rob and his team did a major renovation for our ensuite bathroom, It is a reasonably large space with adjoining walk-in closet. The project involved gutting the existing shower, a large old fashioned step-up jacuzzi tub, and utilizing space to extend the walk-in closet. I was really pleased that Rob guided us through the designing layout of the space and made sure that we were happy with the proposal. The renovation was done during peak covid time, and the entire team took all the necessary precautions without compromising the work quality. The tiling work along with plumbing and electrical work done by his subcontractors are of top notch quality, and Rob led the process through the end making himself available everyday to check on work and make sure that I was happy. They were always on time, kept the workspace neat and tidy, and best of all, completed the work on time. What I liked the most versus my past experiences with other renovators is that Rob was open to changes, calmly discuss any suggestions we had, and available to accommodate those if possible without any fuss.

Rob and his company were introduced to us by a local plumber who knew that the scope of our ensuite bathroom renovation required more trades than just plumbing. Since that project, which involved a complete gutting of the space, relocating the toilet, doubling the size of the shower and tiling it, coordinating the electrical and plumbing work, we’ve hired Rob for two other projects without bothering to get competing estimates!
Our next project was to remove popcorn ceilings from three upstairs bedrooms and hall, install crown moulding and hardwood flooring throughout, replace the staircase and the ceiling below it, and paint everything. Rob and his crew did their utmost to contain the dust and debris generated. He even found us a mover to remove and replace three rooms full of furniture. As always, his crew was a pleasure to work with and extremely efficient.
Our latest project, in conjunction with Better Homes Kingston, was to rebuild the common wall between our living room and garage to allow us to improve the insulation and air sealing.
Rob is easy to work with, has great suggestions and recommendations, and completes projects on time and on budget. We will continue to recommend him to our friends and give him more projects!

I hired RMB, on the advice of a trusted property manager, to renovate my condo bathroom. Rob was very thorough in his explanation and work. He worked through a couple of building quirks to give me a gorgeous bathroom. The reno was completed on time and on budget. We even went shopping together to pick out tile. Paint, Trim, and Doors
Right from the time when Rob visited our house to provide an estimate I was impressed. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly, both how the job was to be completed and potential issues so there were no surprises. Once hired to complete the job Rob and his crew were very respectful of our house, ensuring proper protection was put down on the floors and removing any obstacles (pictures on walls) to make sure nothing was damaged. The job was completed within the estimated time frame and our new doors looked better than expected. Once completed his crew cleaned up, everything was professionally done. We would not hesitate to hire Rob again.

We’ve had Rob and his team to our home a number of times over the years. They are professional and personable and they’ve never left until I was completely satisfied. I already have some projects in mind for the future and I would definitely have them back. They’ve remodeled a bathroom ensuite, refaced a fireplace and painted so they are very knowledgeable in any aspect of remodeling. I would highly recommend them. I also feel he is a man of character and to me that says a lot about a person. My husband passed away just as Rob was beginning his second job with us so I wasn’t in a very good head space. While they were here it was discovered that my roof was leaking and I was at a complete loss. Reached out to a few roofers for estimates and when they came in, at the end of his workday, Rob would sit with me at the kitchen table going over them and explaining them to me. He definitely didn’t have to do this as there was nothing in it for him but he did it anyway. He’s a good man!
